A new-in-box VT2000 16x20 easel just sold on eBay (for $600!). The instruction sheet in one of the photos lists three models: VT1400, VT2000, and VT2400. A second photo of the box label states that the VT2400 is a 20x24 easel.

I love my VT1400 and occasionally use a VT2000, but I've never seen or heard of the VT2400. An undated 4-page Saunders easel catalog I found on the web some time back doesn't list it. Does the VT2400 actually exist?

I'd need a new house to be able to use something this enormous, so it's not something I lust for, I'm just curious.

Here's the recently-ended sale (link will expire in mid-October 2020):

I think they never actually made this model. The label showing the part number probably was a result of them "planning ahead" but not actual manufacture of the model. A quick search in the Internet Archive doesn't show it as an actual product. but does show the other sizes. The archive search was for "tiffen.com".

Buyers beware : sometimes sellers mistakenly list easels based on their overall size, the outside dimensions, rather than the maximum paper size they accept.

Exactly!

16x20 Easels are 20x24 in size, and so on...

Mine looks like this... Note 24" tape measure and 16x20" paper in the middle and size scales... So I'm voting that they exist... No darkroom is complete without some form of a four bladed easel IMHO. :D

Yes, that's a Saunders 20x24 easel, but it's the "Universal", model number UA2024, not a VT2400. Like voceumana, I also suspect the VT2400 was planned but never produced.

The Universal is an excellent easel, by the way, and easy to adjust if the blades get out of square. I have several 20X24's and a couple of 16X20's.

I have never seen the VT2400. I have a 16x20 VT2000 and the 11x14 with the geared knobs. I Have no idea why the VT2000 slots are sized longer than the corresponding slots on the 11x14 model.

Are they long enough to handle 12" x 16" paper, like the LPL and Beseler easels?

The slots on my VT2000 are 8,11,15,21” on my UA model they are 71/8,101/8,141/8” the VT model seem to give about an extra inch to the right.
