San Fran bay area: Nikon MB-1 or MB-2 that I can borrow for a minute?

Got myself a hold of a MD-3 motor drive for my F2 for a very cheap price as the seller did not know if it worked or not. I was fine with that as I mostly wanted to use it as a grip anyway. Now am curious if it works or not but do not have any battery packs to connect up and see. Before laying out $ for a MB-1 or MB-2 I was hoping someone in San Francisco (where I work) or the east bay (where I live, near Berkeley) or somewhere nearby in the bay area, might have one of these to let me try it out with my MD-3 for a minute. Then I'll know.
