I always used Samy's for slide processing but the last batch was mounted crooked in the mounts so the sprocket holes show. I'm thinking of trying a different place. Who is the most reliable for 35mm slide processing?
I just got back a second roll which was already in the mail when I got the crooked slides. It, too, has many of the slides showing the sprocket holes. The good news is that I was able to readjust all the crooked mounts by putting on gloves and just pinching and repositioning. But since their price has gone up as well I will probably try some of the suggestions in this thread. I noticed nobody mentioned Dwaynes. Did they stop developing all slides when they shut down Kodachrome?
Dwaynes is the go to place if you want your film to come back streaked and covered with dirt. At no extra charge they will take your photographs of red rock country and print them so that the ground is green rather than red. Furthermore when you send the package of film and prints to be reprinted properly, they will promptly lose them forever. Just ask me how I know.
Which Samy's location did you have your processing done at? I use the Samy's in Santa Barbara, but I do not do 35mm mine are all 120 and 4x5. I've had no issue at all at that location.
I used to use Samy's myself, but switched to Praus Productions: Dead Link Removed
fyi, Samy's has lost their Santa Barbara lease (the current building they've been in for the last 10 years has been sold) and will be moving to new quarters later this summer. Unfortunately they will not be moving their Refrema machine. They've sold that machine and will cease E-6 processing on May 2. All E-6 will be contracted out to Swan Labs in San Clemente, CA. The same with C-41 sheet film. They will also cease all of their internal B+W processing in the next couple of days.
I develop all my B&W myself but I send all my C-41 and E6 to North Coast Photo (http://www.northcoastphoto.com).
They are great in customer service, quality, processing times and price.
I'm in Miami and I used to developed at Dale Laboratories but I had a bad experience with them.
A few examples from my last batch:

What do you mean by OOC/No PP? No post processing? OOC?

I'll bet it means: out of camera (sometimes named SOOC for straight out...), no post-processing
