I have been using Salyut since a while. The older Salyut hasn't exactly the same noise than the latest Kiev-88. Noise varies a bit with the level of tension on the curtain too. On english internet there's a lot of memes about the Kiev-88. I have the feeling it's because these were sold in the US much more that the older models.
In the ocean of online comments about these cameras, one never knows where commentators speak from, ie. if they actually have a clue of the old mechanical cameras like the very first Hasselblad 1600f and 1000f, old Kowa, Bronica, etc. I
anyway, now that I am also playing with a recently acquired Bronica S2, I was curious to compare, as the old Bronicas are the other MF cameras often said to be the most noisy.
