In Oct. 11th issue of New York Review of Books there is an article about Sally Mann and an exhibit of her work. Very laudatory.

I have watched a DVD about her. I have bought a picture book or two of her work as I like the overall look of her prints, which are made on a VERY large format camera with wet plates, which give drips and runs of chemicals which add to the overall look to the pictures.

The only bit I can't seem to get started on properly, is her book with pictures, 'Hold Still'. Just looking at it again I've got to page 46. I don't know why, from memory, why I struggled. I suppose I'll just have to give it another go.

Whatever though, I would love to see an exhibition of her work.

Yes, do try again with “Hold Still.” It’s an interesting read, which is to say, maybe you’ll enjoy it more from page 47 onward!
