I recently bought mine on eBay. The focusing screen is quite dim. I'm not sure which one it is, it has no grids and has the semi-circle focusing. I'll send a photo later. Basically I would like to get one with grids and brighter. Which ones from Mamiya would be the best for me? Any other companies/individual that makes them?

Thanks.

Mine is a matte screen, no grid lines, and a full circle in the center. I have no trouble with the brightness of this screen. It came with the camera already installed, and I'm assuming it is original to the camera.

I had the same screen as DannL. in my RZ and I liked it fine. I had a Beattie in my Hasselblad and it was real nice.

Full matte with grid (A4, I think). I find it works perfectly with the waist-level finder, to help me keep the camera upright. It's not as bright all over as would be a fresnel screen with split prism, but it means I can focus on anything in frame without having to recompose afterwards.

Bill Maxwell makes alternative screens. I got one for my RB67. Compared to the stock RBProdSD screen it is brighter and shows focus snap much better. It is almost as bright as my Hasselblad's Acute Matte D which is the brightest screen I've seen so far.

I have a grid-less with a circle in the middle, and I do not believe it is matt in the slightest. No issues seeing unless under direct sunlight. I am finding a hoodie is great to have on to block out extra light. I would love a grid screen with some matte to it, haven't starting looking yet.

I recently bought screen type E (RF +microprism) as I had problems with standard screen. I am wearing glasses so sometimes I could not tell if the focus is correct and after I developed film there was bad surprise for me. Hopefully this E type screen will be a big help for me
