Having an interesting time trying to understand this feature. When i screw in the cable to go mirror up, while in B mode, i raise the mirror via the shutter button, then press my cable to open the shutter. The shutter opens, but does not close when i release the cable. It DOES however shut if i press the actual shutter button. Is this functioning properly or am i missing something... MUST one use a double cable release to take advantage of mirror up AND B mode at the same time?

Regarding the T mode, same exact issue except the only way to close the shutter (per the manual) is to slide the back to N. This seems to nullify the entire point of the mirror up mode. Pressing the shutter button, the T lever or the camera in general would shake it to at least some degree- blurring the exposure.

What am i missing?

... and if you haven't worked it out yet, that's what is supposed to happen. Annoying isn't it?

You could also hang your hat (not baseball, maybe homburg or pork pie) over the lens before moving the time ring. I understand that the old time view camera photographers followed this procedure.

I don't know about the RZ but depressing the shutter load lever also terminates the exposure in T mode on the RB.

Scratch your head before embarking upon the exposure BTW, it's not a pleasant experience when the shutter is open.
