If you mounted the lens on an uncocked body, its your fault its now locked up.
If the body wasnt able to cock before you mounted the lens.... that was the sellers fault.

Then contact eBay and PayPal and explain what's happened. Given that he has posted this problem online I doubt they will side with him. At this point, I would t bother contacting the seller.

For starters, dispute the charge on your credit card and get that charged back to paypal.

So in my frustration I decided to do some major camera surgery. Finally managed to get the bellows off and was able to release the lens!
Now I just need to get paypal to allow me to return the damn thing or work out how to fix the cocking mechanism. Wish me luck!
OMG! that was a bit drastic to get a lens off. All you had to do was access the little locking lever from the front, not dismantle a bomb. hahahaha you are a brave fellow.

Now that the story has evolved there may be other culinary options to consider: crow and one's words.I'm not a vengeful person, but I'd eat this guy alive.
No little locking lever or paper clip hole on the RZ. Only way to remove it was through the bellows! I was quoted £120+VAT by the repair shop for just the lens removal.
