I have to redo a print. I have a cat in heat, who rolled on the semi dry prints. One is beyond hope. Unless one of you wants a mixed media print. Has a nice texture to it.

Rec'd Jim's print this morning. May I say it is excellent. Sharp as a tack, beautifully printed and presented. Nice to have an additional small slice of the US to view. Thanks Jim.
Best John.

Received a notice that a package was waiting for me at the post office. Went and picked up a "Moonraker" print from Leon (absolutly beautiful IMO, I really need to learn to tone). When I got home and checked the mail, I had another notice to pick up another package (won't get it till Friday).
Leon - great print! Will be put up on the wall this weekend, next to my copy of the print I sent out.
Sorry I didn't sign or number or tone (or mount or matt) it.

Just so my group knows (or cares) it is a "Mitchell" original ("ooooh") and Leon's is #2 of 4, L Gebhardt's is #3 of 4 and Jeremy Moore's is #4 of 4. I have no plans on EVER printing it again.
After receiving Leon's I realize I still have much to learn and do, so I will be out of the exchange for a while untill I feel comfortable with my prints.

I haven't seen your prints, but I would encourage you to stay involved with the exchange. I hope I speak for everyone else in saying that it's about sharing your work, reguardless of standard. I'd be happy to swap prints with anyone on here provided they enter into the spirit of things.

I don't posess any great skill at the photography thing. I've less experience than most of the people here. However the prints I've sent out have been the best work I've done in those few months. I hope the people who received them liked them. I enjoy making them and sending them out - it gives me something to work for.

I've received some awesome prints, some others that I'm less excited about. I'm happy to see them all, to understand a little more about the people on this site. If someone sends out a print thats their best effort, then I appreciate that.

I'd hate to see someone drop out of the exchange because they feel they're "not worthy". Who's to say who IS worthy? There's another thread at the momment about camera clubs - do we really want to get that way? We'd end up with one self righteous idiot posting is fantastic prints to himself!

Anyway - enough waffling - stay involved...

Ian

p.s. And I'm sure your print was good anyway!

I'll be back...

Thanks for the encouragement 127! I really enjoyed being in the swap, but time demands have become... well, demanding. I posted in the thread "print exchange 3" that I had dropped out due to school, work, renovations. After seeing a real print (instead of book reproductions and internet scans that truely don't do justice) I realized how far I really have to go.(thats a good thing by the way) I hope I never stop learning.
I'll be back (insert accent or evil laugh of your choice) into the print exchange in the future, but when I feel I'm ready (or at least think  I'm ready).
I also encourage anyone NOT in the exchange to consider getting into the program. Or consider the one on one print swap. It really made me think about and strive to do my absolute best with one of my (at the time) favourite shots. After printing it about a billion times, no longer my favourite.
Never be afraid of criticism, it might turn out to be praise. (Ooo I think I just found my "signature"!)

Iain - come now. Your print was great, honest, I really liked it. And i was more than happy to receive it, as i am sure anyone else in the exchange would be too.

Staying involved is the best thing to do IMO, just keep at it.

BTW - The print I sent out was a lucky one-off. Most of mine are crap

Received Mr. Jeremy's print late last week. Sorry about the belated post. It's a beautiful BLUE print titled "Feet".
Really cool (pun intended). I like the style (of the pic), and haven't seen many blue prints myself. It'll be up on the wall as soon as I find a suitable frame.
:D

I finally sent out my prints today, so you should get them in the next week or so. I didn't have enough board to mount them and still finish another project I am working on, so they are unmounted. I put a piece of scrap mat in to keep them from getting bent, please let me know if they arrive in one piece.

I have received a few PM's over the last week or so from members that have not received some prints from Round 2.

If you have not sent out your prints yet please contact the other members of your group and let them know the status.

Thanks,

Jim

Today was my lucky day. Why? Because I got a carefully made IIx14 selenium toned Fiber based print of just the kind of subject matter that I like.

"But"...I heard you out there...you are asking "who made this delicate and lovely print?"

Who else but Mr. Rogueish Mitchell of Brampton Ontario, Canada ?

He is a sheep in wolves clothing.. a tender hearted guy.

Thank you Lain.
