I'm having a good news/bad news reaction and seem to be at a loss for words...

Great news that the camera made it there without detouring through the Marianas Trench. Sorry about your back; I have back trouble of my own these last 25 years. A good chiropractor is worth his weight in Guinness.

Best of luck with the rest of this round and future rounds. This is what happens when it takes years to finish the project. Time to move on to something else. I will say i have gotten toknow a bit about a lot of interesting people and even call one or two friends.

Now if you could just figure out a way to get Amazon prime to deliver your camera... that would be impressive.

I'm sorry too... just a short hop from me to you Tim.
After a visit to the doctor today and am hopeful that I'll be up and around in the next few days, but I'm going to need to take it easy for a little longer.

Just to give everyone an idea about the efforts I undertake for this - here is a photo of the top 1/4 or so of my climb down (and back up afterwards) to get my panorama:

You're a better man than I am. There's a set of stairs very like that at the park at Richmond Beach. I haven't braved them yet.

I'm slowly getting better and was able to drive to the post office and back home again this morning, about 10 miles altogether. Hopefully by next weekend I'll be up and about enough to make my photos.

I was thinking of doing that since a while, but wasn't able to get that google advanced mode working with my computer. I mapped the camera 10 journey around the world, I hope I haven't forgot someone.

Yeah, that camera is travelling since very long, but with what travel !!! 45,693Km, or 28,392 Miles. Five continents, and crossing three oceans.

BTW, so bad Tim choose to opting out now, but I can understand.
Cheer up, people, we are almost done... the big loop around the globe is closed soon !

Steve.

Hi Steve,
Sorry, my mistake, I haven't missed you out, but I obviously confused the Isle of Wight with the Isle of Man !
The correct travelmap should be rather like this :

Hi Folks, I'm still not able to drive or even sit in the car as a passenger for very long, and haven't been able to get out much at all. Am starting a new round of treatment so hopefully it will improve and I'll go out and make the photos soon. I'd like to use the panorama shot for one of the wide open vistas here in Sonoma county where I live. I'm sure my wife would be willing to drive if that's necessary, so hopefully it won't be much longer. If it takes more than another week or two I'll make the "self portrait" and send the camera on its way...

( also getting "cabin fever"... can walk a little around the neighborhood, but I'm used to walking/hiking almost every day, usually with a camera! It's not like I'm sick or ill or anything like that, just have a "pinched nerve" that is limiting what I can do)

Hi Ned,
does that mean you're "up and running" again?
Bert
Mine are done, just waiting confirmation that Toro Mike is next.

I'm not 100% but I'm well enough to get out and hike around, which sure makes me happier! So yes back up and running!

About 2 years ago I made a print that I liked, but a bit of felt from the 35mm cassette was right in the middle of it. Even though it was made at a park I go to often, in the past couple years I was never able to figure out just where I was standing to get that particular view. On Saturday, I drove there with my daughter and the dog, and we hiked around on the trails that I don't go on as often... my daughter is the one who figured it out. I went back yesterday morning with the camera and got the panorama as the morning fog was burning off.

Don't forget to add the trip I drove from Adelaide to Melbourne and back with the camera in-tow, that's another 1500km or so...

Wow that was quick! I think Fred did a good thing by putting the original box inside that B&H box. I just replaced the paper with my address with a new paper with your address.... I'll bet the same thing can work all the way through until it gets back to Rick. The South African stamps all over the original box are very cool.
