This calls for some self portraits of the members of this Round 10.

This is me, testing a Woca 120GF (Holga before it was called Holga, but with a glass lens) with Fomapan 100 to be developed in Caffenol-C-M. I just turned the camera on myself to complete the film:

On a different note, WOW--how cool to have a camera floating around the southern hemisphere, and a first ever trip to South Africa!
Toro_mike, you need to sacrifice a chicken(or whatever) to atone for the slip=o-the tongue.

I can't believe the places this camera is going. This is the best traveling camera yet!!

I have a fresh chicken in the fridge for the purpose... I'll probably butterfly it and oven roast... It should be a very good sacrifice!!

Well... Been awhile since I popped in I see...

Good work getting the camera through the boer wars. On to Waltzing Matildaland.

Since I have been here I have...

Hiked the Grand Canyon in June with my daughter and niece, rim to rim in 45C temperatures.
Learned how to etch glass with silicon carbide
Acquired a number of possessions from people who have passed away around me, such as a LaMond carbon fiber bicycle, a freezer for my garage, a rather nice SV tripod, and oh yes.. a Rollicord. Unfortunately, no one left me several hundred thousand dollars to allow me to retire.
I am planning another work trip to Aachen in a couple of weeks. No chance to visit Ireland I am afraid but there is a possibility in October!
I learned how to make killer rye bread.
And I am allergic to shrimp.

Life sucks.

Anyway, I await the day the camera comes to Northern California. Lots of chicken being sacrificed on the altar/pyre of the weber grill.

Thank goodness.. I thought I was going mad(der)!

This calls for some self portraits of the members of this Round 10. (Bert from Holland)

I thought we had to wait til the round finished to see how inventive we all were with our self portraits??

I'm going to stay quiet, I'm already in enough trouble

Sounds like a good plan Mike....

Excellent! I'll keep the BBQ fired up until October in your honour so Tim.. though you do realise you'll be doing the cooking when you're here?
Maybe not shrimp however....

I think we can shoot some other (real) self portraits and share it here in the mean time ......

But a good BBQ is also a good mean to pass the time and to get to know each other - I'll bring some fine Dutch cheese and beer along .....

Hooray! It's left SA, and it's arrived in SA! (seriously, I still get confused when people abbreviate South Africa to SA, as far as I'm concerned South Australia is the only one and true SA. Sometimes I get halfway through a new article thinking it's local then it says something like 'Durban' or 'Cape Town' and it all clicks and I have to start reading it again to understand what's going on). But anyway, ce camera est arrivee. So what's the deal with sending it on? I read something before about holding off to wait until someone had moved countries or something? Or just click as fast as I can and get it on ASAP? (I'll probably have to unwrap it and take a photo or two first, but that's a minor detail).

Not a bad idea BlackDog.. Irish wine could be the next big thing!

I'm getting jealous of the camera going to places I've never been.. I seriously need to campaign for funding to travel along with camera 11!!

That's right. Currently in Genoa, Italy trying to decide what to do today. My back is killing me from lugging my camera backpack around so I think today will be a one-camera day. There's an exhibition on August Sander in town, think I might go see that too.

You need to invent and build a camera for the next round which is so complicated that a skilled operator (you) needs to accompany it at all times.

Of course, you will have to travel with it in a wooden crate as we don't have much of a budget. Is that ok? We can put a couple of cushions in there.

Does that mean we would have to push Sile's buttons to operate it? Oh Yeah!
