A good day to stay inside and listen to "Selling England by the Pound" again while enjoying a (there was a url link here which no longer exists).
I especially love the piano solo (intro) and the part starting with a flute solo (3:30) in "Firth of Fifth".

My all time favorite band before Pete left. They blew me away first time I saw them on their first US tour.

Here's Pete for you.

Thank you. I have all his solo work on vinyl and disc. My youngest(17) daughter loves his work, she "gets it". Her favorite is "Security ", she heard it when she was 7 and stole it from me.

There was some great music in the 70's, wasn't it? I'm from 1967 so I missed a lot at that time. But during college (1985) I had a friend who gave me a great education to what I missed. I wish I had seen Genesis live in this years. Luckily there are many films and recordings but it probably isn't the same as seeing it live....

Edit: Now I think of it: I did now Jean-Michel Jarre: Oxygène (1976) and Équinoxe (1978) at that time. But also Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells (1973?) at the end of the 70's. Still one of my favorites.
And some songs of The Police and David Bowie from my elder brother.

I grew up with the music from the 1950's, 60's and on, my favorite is 70's.

We have probably the same musical interests, which is not surprising, as we are more or less from the same generation  I am always surprised to see that international fame for the frenchy JM Jarre . Theses two albums are good choices, I think he never equaled them in the future, excepted perhaps "Chants magnétiques".

You probably already know them, but I should advice you to listen to Tangerine Dream's album of the same period and after. There is a thread in the Lounge forum where we mention it.

Best regards,

Raphael

Ah, but we are much alike. I know them and like them - since about 1980?

I finally did it: I made my two shots with the Pentax.

We had some lovely weather this weekend and I didn't have any work to do for the first time in weeks (well actually I did, but I ignored it profoundly).

The first shot (self portrait involving body parts) might be a little bit of a mishap. The camera didn't fire so I looked at the small LCD screen for error messages, when I noticed the timer was activated ... so I very quickly pointed the camera back at the intended subjects when it fired. I hope I was in time, otherwise it will be a perfectly blurred self portrait

I did read the manual but I didn't check all the settings before shooting - silly me. And I'm allowed only 2 shots soI won't try again. The panorama shot went fine fortunately and I'll make a nice entry in the log this week.

So I'm ready to ship the camera next weekend, after I verified the name and correct address of the next contender with our sublime host.
(PM sent)

Edit: I made a iPhone snapshot as well of the self portrait, but since it's made in a non-digital way I'd better not post it here. But it include parts of me with early spring flowers in the garden ...

I've sent you Raphael's info and sent him a PM to let him know it's his turn.

Hate to say this, but I'm bowing out for this round. I'm finding it hard enough to get the motivation to take my own gear out and shoot with it. So, I've PM'ed Rick A to have him go ahead and take me off the list. Maybe I'll feel more motivated when round 11 occurs.

I am reluctant to pull you from the list John, it's going to be a while before the Pentax comes round to the left coast and you may have a change of heart by then. Stay connected to this thread and lets revisit your decision when it gets closer to you. Don't despair my friend, we all have those times in our lives and they pass. Stay encouraged to at least play hard, love deeply, and live like you mean it.

cheers

John:

Is it because the camera isn't a Nikon?:whistling:

Hope the motivation returns!

lol, no. More like having a somewhat empty wallet. I still have a couple rolls of 5222 that need to be picked up from being processed, but I haven't had the cash to do so.

Yes, at the going rate of 2 months a person we're right on track to be finished in 3 years. :whistling:

Did Rafael get the camera? What's the status of it now?

No, sorry, find nothing in my mail so long... The last thing I got was a private mail from Bert (TheToadMen), asking if my address is still valid, mail I answered positively...

No news from this time !

Sorry about that, but life got a bit in the way. I didn't post it yet but will do this week. I'll PM you the track&trace.

Too busy playing with the new C-330, eh.

Too busy playing with the new C-330, eh.

Not even that, besides carrying it around much without getting time to shoot with the new lenses (55, 135 and 180 mm). I got to use it only one morning 4 weeks ago ...

Work hard now and free up time for the last weekend this month!

Haven't figured out how yet but I will/must ..... Don't want to miss another WPPD.

It used to be that there would be shouts and threats by now. Time to sic the dogs to get the camera moving?

I guess I've been a bit too preoccupied with what I've been doing to pay much attention to whats up. Where is the camera? Bert, did you send it to Raphael, and if so, did he get it yet? Inquiring minds want to know.
