Who would have thunk there'd be rain in Ireland.. and still going strong. Tonight we're expected to get the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo so we're not quite out of the woods yet. And I wanted to keep you all updated as I know how frustrating it can be waiting, but I'm also hesitant to go out and take a grubby grey, dull shot just for the sake of moving it along!

So please stay on the line.. your participation is important to us.. and your patience is appreciated :D

I don't think there's any rush, especially after last round. This should give you plenty of time to pick out which undies you'll be sporting in the selfie.

Besides... If I have to go to your house to recover the camera, then... That's just what's going to have to happen.

Hurricane Gonzalo
Wasn't that also your nickname for one of your Latin lovers? As I recall, he swept you off your feet!

Hi all, the camera is stuck for a bit in Ireland, Sile is locked up in a mental hospi... no wait...
Sile caught an incurable Latin lover disease... no, that's not it either....

Sile has pneumonia, and will be out of it for a couple of weeks. She extends her most heartfelt apologies. She will get the camera on the road as soon as she can.

Must have been all that rain in Ireland lately. Don't worry about the camera, all in due time.
Get well soon first, Síle !!!

Yes, get well real soon Sile. Isn't a snort of Irish whiskey a cureall:confused:

That's what you get for running around in the cold Irish rain in just your polka dots, Sile!
Get well soon!

Sile is getting better and trying to escape her straight jacket. But she looks so cute in it. Will let you know how she is doing as the week progresses.

Thank you so much everyone for the kind thoughts.. I could feel them across the pond! I am thankfully finally home and thoroughly enjoying my own very comfortable bed! And thank you Tim for passing on the message for me. For some reason every time I tried to access here through my phone on Tapatalk it kept telling me I was banned.. and I didn't think my polka dots or latin lovers were that much of an issue!

I have made the decision to bundle up the camera and get it sent on to the next person on the list.. If it's possible to get it sent back my way toward the end or as it crosses Europe again that would be fantastic, but from what I'm led to believe, it'll be some weeks before I am up and about again and I really don't want to be the cause of a huge hold up.

I think it's Mooseontheloose who is next on the list, so I'll PM both Moose and Rick to check addresses and availability and get it moving asap.

Thank you again everyone for both your patience and kindness.. you really are a lovely bunch of lunatics! :D

Dearest Sile--our first and foremost concern is always going to be your health and well being. I think i can speak for all here, that we love you, and wish you God speed for full recovery.
Steve Smith is next on our list, I sent you a PM with his info. I am also sending him a message to expect the baby.

Get well soon, we have missed you here.

All,

We must now give sacrifice to the gods of the post office of the Ilse of Wight. They have done us in before, there might be dark clouds upon the horizon of successful camera transfer. Make sure you take out the Plutonium batteries from the camera before shipping.

And remember... There is The Camera, the one camera that rules all cameras.... my Precious...

Thank you Rick for your very sweet and kind thoughts.. I'm taking it one day at a time and with the help of my gorgeous daughters I know I'll get there. :kissing: I got your PM, thank you and have Steve's details and will get it mailed to him before the end of the week.

Don't worry Tim.. I'll wave a chicken over the package before I send it off to the post office.. every little has to help

Wahoooooo....

And thanks be to living feck it didn't get lost..

Is "living feck" some sort of Irish elf?

Hope you are feeling better Sile.

Yet!...

Steve.

Now cut that out! Sheesh--now I'm gonna have to sacrifice a sheep and a chicken to stop the jinx before it starts.

Err yes that's what it is Matt... I sent him along to make sure the camera got there safely!
You can send him home now though Steve.. his passport is in the box :D

And thank you Matt, I'm feeling a lot better. Being pampered certainly helps.
I could definitely get used to this lifestyle!

Yet!... Steve.

It won't be my fault if anything happens from here on in.. so I'm off the hook!

Sile, how are you feeling, much improved I hope. I made chicken tortilla soup in your honor last weekend, spicy as all hell. It's the stuff that'll knock any sickness outta ya.

... chicken tortilla soup in your honor last weekend, spicy as all hell. It's the stuff that'll knock any sickness outta ya.

If it's spicy that you'll need, then this joke from the (there was a url link here which no longer exists) might just be what you need (at least it might cheer you up):

Frank: "Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge at a chili cooking contest. The original person called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judges table asking for directions to the Coors Light truck, when the call came in. I was assured by the other two judges (native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy and, besides, they told me that I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted."

Here are the scorecards from the event: (Frank is Judge 3)

Chili #1 Eddie's Maniac Monster Chili

>Judge #1 -- A little too heavy on the tomato. Amusing kick.

>Judge #2 -- Nice, smooth tomato flavor. Very mild.

>Judge #3 -- (Frank) What the hell is this stuff?! You could remove dried paint on my driveway. Took me two beers to put out the flames. I hope that's the worst one. These Texans are crazy!

Chili #2 Austin's Afterburner Chili

>Judge #1 -- Smoky, with a hint of pork. Slight jalapeno tang.

>Judge #2 -- Exiting BBQ flavor; needs more peppers to be taken seriously.

>Judge #3 -- Keep this out of reach of children. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver. They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my face.

Chili #3 Ronny's Famous Burn Down the Barn Chili

>Judge #1 -- Excellent firehouse chili. Great kick. Needs more beans.

>Judge #2 -- A bean less chili, a bit salty, good use of peppers.

>Judge #3 -- Call the EPA. I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like I have been snorting Drano. Everyone knows the routine by now. Get me more beer before I ignite. Barmaid pounded me on the back, now my back bone is in the front part of my chest. I'm getting pie-eyed from all the beer...

Chili #4 Dave's Black Magic

>Judge #1 -- Black bean chili with almost no spice. Disappointing.

>Judge #2 -- Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish, or other mild foods; not much of a chili.

>Judge #3 -- I felt something scraping across my tongue, but was unable to taste it. Is it possible to burn out taste buds? Sally, the barmaid, was standing behind me with fresh refills. That 300-lb woman is starting to look HOT...just like this nuclear waste I'm eating! Is chili an aphrodisiac?

Chili #5 Lisa’s Legal Lip Remover

>Judge #1 -- Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding considerable kick. Very impressive.

>Judge #2 -- Chili using shredded beef, could use more tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong statement.

>Judge #3 – My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off may forehead, and I can no longer focus my eyes. I farted and four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chili had given me brain damage. Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I’m burning my lips off. It really pisses me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming. Screw those rednecks.

Chili #6 Pam’s Very Vegetarian Variety

>Judge #1 -- Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good balance of spices and peppers.

> Judge #2 -- The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic. Superb.

> Judge #3 -- My intestines are now a straight pipe filled with gaseous sulphuric flames. I pooped on myself when I farted and I’m worried it will eat through the chair! No one seems inclined to stand behind me anymore. I need to wipe my butt with a snow cone.

Chili #7 Carla’s Screaming Sensation Chili

>Judge #1 -- A mediocre chili with too much reliance on canned peppers.

>Judge #2 -- Ho-hum; tastes as if the chef literally threw in a can of chili peppers at the last minute. **I should take note that I am worried about Judge #3. He appears to be in a bit of distress, as he is cursing uncontrollably.

>Judge #3 -- You could put a grenade in my mouth, pull the pin, and I wouldn’t feel a thing. I’ve lost sight in one eye, and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water. My shirt is covered with chili, which slid unnoticed out of my mouth. My pants are filled with lave to match my shirt. At least during the autopsy, they’ll know what killed me. I’ve decided to stop breathing; it’s too painful. Screw it; I’m not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air, I’ll just suck it through the 4-inch hole in my stomach.

Chili #8 Karen’s Toenail Curling Chili

>Judge #1 -- The perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili. Not too bold, but spicy enough to declare its existence.

>Judge #2 -- This final entry is a good, balanced chili. Neither mild, nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge #3 farted, passed out, fell over, and pulled the chili pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he’s going to make it. Poor fella, wonder how he’d have reacted to REALLY hot chili.

I have made chili that if you turned the lights off, you could see the blue flames rolling across the surface. Minimum requirement of a 6 pack per bowl. I've been told that the eater couldn't stop eating it no matter how he suffered, it was that good. I still remember the next day after that pot.......
