Sounds good - thanks Bert!

I'm still in, thanks.

I assume this is a kind of "receive a camera - shoot a camera - send a camera" gig, where everyone pays his own shipping costs?
You shoot one image and put the story behind this image down in the journal that came with the camera?

I'm in if that's allowed: I'm in The Netherlands, Europe.

As a theme suggestion: "shoot a self portrait without yourself" ?? or: "light into darkness" ??

This is correct. We share one camera, all taking turns. So, please don't enter if you are not ready or capable of spending time and money to participate. This is a major commitment, and none of us want to lose a camera loaded with important photos. It's one thing to have a camera come up missing in the post, quite another if someone decides to hoard it(for what ever reason). I suspect some of the previous hold-ups occurred due to monetary circumstances, postage in countries outside the USA (to and from) is usually fairly high for parcels. Oh, and don't forget, there is also customs forms to fill out, be prepared. Meantime, get your brains in gear and try ti figure out a theme we all can do. I think including self, in an unobtrusive manner, is a good place to start, no matter what theme we pick.
As for the journal, jot down anything that comes to mind, not necessarily about your photo, get personal if you like, I think I would like to share them with the community.

Can those who've already been through it a couple of times maybe recount what worked well with customs?

Btw, is it shoot one camera or shoot one camera and one roll only?

I.. I'm sorry... I don't think those of us that have been through this are ready to talk just yet... It's just too soon.....,

And dammit Tim there I was pretending to be a normal person for once and already you have me in leathers with a whip!

If it's a 135 mm camera (like suggested&supplied by Rick A) so there can be max 35 participants with one roll (on the safe side) before the camera must return to Rick.
But if Rick makes me the participant # 35, then I'm willing to load the camera again with a new roll or film for a second run, if there are more than 35 participants. I'll have the first film professionally developed and will send (email + snail mail) the original negatives directly to Rick (= safer than sending undeveloped film). In the meantime the camera can travel onward with the second film roll and return to Rick after participant # 70.
It's just an option, but if Rick thinks that more than 35 participants takes too long, one film roll will do just fine!

I agree with Rick: look before you leap ....
And I suppose that Rick will set a max time frame (from arrival to forwarding) for each participant. Within this period the participant must take the shot and ship the camera again - no excuses or delays please. So think it through before you commit to this: it's a group effort after all! And if life still gets in the way, report back to Rick in time, so he can take you off the mailing list before the camera will be sent to you.

If we keep it to one camera, there will only be 17 members participating (plus me), and each will get two shots. If we send two cameras, then we can include twice as many people and still give two shots apiece. Keep in mind, if we opt for only one camera, I most likely will send my OM-1 around.

I think sending an OM-1 might be a touch risky. We have enough problems getting a couple of point and shoot jalopies back!!

I vote for two point and shoots - double the chance of success

I'm in, if Jeff { LXDude } is in with us for this round . . .

If it's not already maxed out, I'll participate. (Thanks for the invite, Ron!)

Isn't it the rule that rookies pay EVERYONE'S shipping cost? (Just kidding in case someone takes me seriously. Don't want to scare newcomers away!)

One camera and one roll only.
Hmm.

So when are we starting? Today's a good day, it's our Independence day! :-D

I am sorry Sile....

But I didn't hear a denile. We all know about denile. It's a river the Egyptians go skinny dipping in.

Perhaps there are stories about Leather Masters on the Iberian Peninsula?

I like the theme ideas of self inclusion, perhaps artistic selfies (please, no images including thigh highs with runs and muddy Wellingtons...).

Right Tim, nobody wants to see how you dress on a daily basis.

As long as we don't have to read every post in the "Leica and Stylus around the world" to learn what to do....

I'd like to participate if there is still room for another.

About a year ago I went to ship an SLR to another APUGger in Denmark and was surprised how much it was going to cost... more than the camera was worth. So I guess we are playing roulette and hoping not be the one right before it jumps continents! I like the idea of a journal and it would be neat if all the results could be put into a gallery here...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think all of us "regulars" stopped pretending to be normal at least a couple of rounds ago.

If it is going to be an OM-1, my questions are:

1) should it be sent without a battery for the meter? and
2) can I use one of my lenses if I don't want to use the one it came with?

My speedo is rather the worse for wear after we

Uh, nevermind. It is, however, still serviceable. Not sure if it covers as much as it used to.

.
Should we be somewhat selfish / sensible, and keep this round U.S Based.
And should we limit it to APUGers that have been APUGing for at least a one year period ?
Maybe a Round 10.2, 10.3, etc, for The European, and U.K., Australian, etc., faction of Photographic Phanatics ?
And then create a compilation of the Global Round 10 Cameras ?

It would be nice to streamline the process, if possible . . .

If you decide to go with two cameras (so there is still space) and are happy to send one to Darkest Africa, then I'd love to join your merry band...

I have decided on one (1) camera only, the Pentax, loaded with Legacy Pro 100 (Acros 100). My daughter suggested we all shoot 2 photos each, one panorama and one regular with self included in the regular shot, either a flat out selfie or your image worked in as a shadow, reflection, body part, or what ever. The Pentax has a built in pano mask that can be activated on demand then switched back off.
If you see your name listed below, please PM me with the following info: real name, screen name, mailing address, email address,U.S. only please include a valid phone number. I will be working out a mailing sequence based on shipping to Canada first, followed by Europe, then around the world to California, then working back to me in Pa.

My apologies if I spelled your user name wrong, but hey you'll get over it.
PS-- can somebody come up with a title for this round, or do we leave it as is???

Is "Oceans Ten" available?

If so, can I play the George Clooney character?

Very good point sir..

Did someone say George Clooney?

I can never un-imagine that.. You know that right??

With Fred participating, this could get really interesting...
