Just sell the Crown Graphic and buy a Super Graphic, much easier and cheaper. I think there were other press style cameras with rotating backs but trading up to a Super Graphic lets you keep all of your existing lensboards.

IO have heard of people taking B&J Watson Press Camera backs and putting them on a Crown, but that seems a bit of work and money. Either of the above suggestions seems a better alternative. Or get yourself a 4x5 rb graplex. Wonderful camera. I have the 3x4 version and love it.

Sounds like a lot of work for little benefit. What is the advantage of a crown with a B&J back vs. a B&J unmodified?

Matt

I just looked at my camera and the opening in the body is 4" x 4 3/4" so a rotating back is pointless. I made an adapter to take my Cambo back because I could not find the proper back. God knows what I did with it.

None as far as I can see. Some people don't like the focusing mechanisms on the B&J. As far as myself, I shoot a 4x5 Speed. It has tripod mounting holes on two adjacent sides. Shooting a 3x4 gives you almost as much real estate so that's what I usually use.
