I bought one of these new (in copper color) , for a trip to West Africa in 1965. It's a real PITA to use .

I have the same hammered/copper colored one and have to agree about it being a PITA. It does offer the very best protection of any case, but if you don't lock your Rollei onto the platform properly or don't latch it right when you flip the camera up to use you risk possibly having your Rollei come off the base when it accidentally flips down from its own weight and/or your own human error. Trust me, it's a real big surprise when your priceless beauty flips down. Oh, I've had my heart stop at least seven or eight times when it has happened. Still, it's like putting your Rollei inside a Sherman tank. John W
