I saw this news release on a German web
site, that appears to be saying that after a
creditors meeting held yesterday, Franke
& Heidecke will be resuming production
with a reduced staff of TLRs, and possibly
of 35mm cameras as well.

http://www.gfw.de/newsticker/detail.html?id=22507

Perhaps someone with a better command
of German can provide more insight.

Very interesting, it mentioned the Rollei 35 too. I would also like a German speakers comment before I get exited. My translator (bablefish) came up with this:
"for extended management (Hans Hartje, Bodo Fischer, pure beautiful skirt, Karl-Heinz Krings and Rolf Sabban)"

Possibly they're making womens clothing

P.S I hope fatherhood is going OK

It will be interesting to see what happens. The company suffered at the hands of Samsung and others who sold the name, and others trade on the Rollei reputation..

It seems like they have purchased the remaining parts inventory as well as the manufactured goods inventory and that they will produce TLR cameras on pre-order as long as the supplies will last. Something like Arax and the Kiev Cameras. If memory serves me right this is old news, I heard about this some weeks ago. Anyways, the price I saw quoted for one of these Rolleiflexes was extremely high, although I don't remember how much.

The text essential says what's mentioned before: A new company (DHW Fototechnik) with 20 employees, headed by one of the former bosses of the bankrupt Franke & Heidecke GmbH company (had 131 employees), has bought both parts and equipment of the bankrupt company.

They will continue producing slide projectors (66 Dual P und twin MSC - I guess these are probably less common medium format slide projectors?), and twin eyed MF cameras upon customer request. Possibly also the Rollei 35mm camera's.

The companies focus is "production, repair, and trade of fine mechanics and optics"...
