Rolleiflex 6000/ tele-converter vs 150mm

I've got the 6000 80mm and 150mm, both of them 1/1000. In order to lighten the carry load, I was thinking of a 2x tele-converter on the 80mm, and selling off the 150mm. Since the optics on everything Rolleiflex are so good, would I loose much in the negative? And, will any/all Rolleiflex 2x tele's work with the 1/1000 80mm?

If it were me I would not sell a lens with the intent of using a 2x converter. The Rollei converter may be very good, as far as converters go, but in my opinion it is a far less optically desirable setup than the 150mm.

Teleconverters impose compromises.
A 2X converter will cost two stops of lens speed. This may hamper focussing accuracy.
With 50 ISO film it might not be possible to use a 1/1000 sec shutter speed for daylight exposures.
Conventional thought suggests stopping down an extra two stops in order to subdue optical abberations introduced by the teleconverter; makes a slow lens even slower.
The prime lens has a certain number of "lines per millimetre" of resolution coming out of the back of it. The teleconverter won't discover any extra lpm but will instead reduce resolution by a factor of two...at least.

I've used teleconverters a lot but only in cases where I need a bigger image scale and I have to show camera-original material in the form of projected transparencies.

And, will any/all Rolleiflex 2x tele's work with the 1/1000 80mm?

The 2x is compatible with the 2,8/80mm PQ & PQS lenses. I have no information on the 80mm AFD. The 1,4x Schneider (AKA Longar) Tele Converter is compatible with the Schneider Xenotar 2,8/80mm, but not with the Zeiss 80mm Planar and will cause physical damage if mounting is attempted!

If you are looking for a lighter kit, consider using one of the non-interchangeable film backs instead of the heavier film magazines.
