Rollei TLR Strap Recomendations

Have a Rolleiflex 3.5 MX and was curious if anyone has any recommendations for a nice strap for one? thanks

The Op/tech pro loop system can be pushed through the strap lugs. You can not use the center part of the strap and clip the two short connectors together for a wrist strap when it makes sense. I actually cut away the neoprene center section and sew in a 3/4 inch nylon web strap for the center section to go around my neck or shoulder when that makes sense, but that is a personal call.

Other will recommend a variety of other options from almost free to, well, Leica-level conspicuous consumption. The Rollei original clips (and Chinese knock-offs) are nice because as you lift the camera, the strap falls away from the focus hood. The Pro Loop connector does a similar thing.

I know your looking for a strap... so did I many decades ago. But I found none satisfactory. What worked incredibly good was a Rolleifix and a light monopod. Camera was either in a carrying bag or on the monopod being carried or used.

If you can get hold of a Rollei strap, find a shoemaker who can insert new leather into clips. This is what I did when leather became unreliable. However, my shoemaker not only repaired shoes, but made shoes, so this may not be possible for everybody.

I use a Peak Design Slide strap. The string-style fasteners attach to just about any camera and the strap is easily and quickly removed when I want to use the camera on a tripod.

Does your MX have a metal slot and a knob intended for mounting a leather strap with a slot? Or does it use the scissors clip mount system, like the E and F models? If the latter, just go buy one of the Fotodiox straps via Amazon - easy and inexpensive.

I think there's no scissors clipping with the MX - a friend has a MX-EVS (3.5 B) and he uses a Hasselblad 1" Wide Web Strap.
Otherwise the OpTech Uni-Loop with a Classic strap should work perfect.

Yep, don't trust older leather straps. Lost a Rolleicord to the sidewalk when one snapped on me. Never again.

I use an OP/TECH strap on my Mamiya C220 F. It works great for the heavier Mamiya. I like the 2 1/2" wide foam part that goes around my neck. It doesn't cut into my neck like a skinny strap. It's a little bulkier than a skinny strap though.
