We are having great results with old Kodak Tech Pan, but realize the days are numbered. Is the Rollei ATP1.1 Advanced Technical Pan a clone or close second? Thanks!
I am not sure but I believe almost all 'ultra-high-resolution-films' are actually various Agfa Copex or similar microfilms.
What I would like to get is an unperforated 16 or 35mm film of this kind, and a process to push it to ISO 100 - that would be the dream-come-true of all submini camera owners, they could use that as bulk film and use a splitter to get the right width for their cameras.
ATP has nothing to do with Copex Rapid (both made by Agfa-Gevaert, but that's it).
Technical Pan films like Kodak Technical and Rollei ATP have their origin in applications in the movie industry (e.g. data recording). They were not intended for micro film applications. Agfa Copex Rapid is a micro film.
Rollei ATP: superpanchromatic sensitization (extended red sensivity) like Kodak Technical Pan, blue base, no NC coating.
You will get even much better results with the new dedicated Spur Modular UR developer. Compared with Rodinal you will achieve
- much higher speed: real ISO 40/17° - 50/18°
- higher resolution
- much finer grain
- more clear contur sharpness
- much better dynamic range, better highlight detail
I see! I will try to get that developer and use it with the copex. Normally I expose at iso 25, and got great resaults with rodinal 1:100 20m. Couldn´t find much information about the film plus developemnt times/diffrent developers, push and pull info, etc.
For Rollei ATP1.1 (E.I. 20) you need Part A and Part B and actually also Part D (for the 120 roll film) for preventing stripes. Part D will be available soon.
For 135-36 you need:
44ml Part A + 108 ml Part B fill up till 1 ltr.
No pre-Soak !!
Fixer: 60-90 Seconds !
5 minutes wash.
You can also use the low contrast document developer from Rollei: RLC.
Alternative Rodinal 1+150 (E.I. 12-15).
