Thanks in advance for your help. I'm about to disassemble to clean an original German manufactured SLX/6000 Rollei 80 mm planar lens similar to the PQS lens described in this excellent tutorial by ic-racer in my electronics/optical lab. I need access to all of the photos, but I received a message stating that I do not have permission to see these photos. I signed up about 6 days ago. Here are my questions:
Do I need to pay for a subscription to get access?
How do I get access?
Sean, could you message me to let me know what I need to do to get access to all photos that go with this thread? Following work on this lens, I would be glad to post additional support comments consistent with IC-Racer and his previous work for future photographers who work with these legacy lenses. Best from Nordic Skier.

I see you are in Nederland. Have you tried contacting Dave Feely at Key Camera in Longmont? (303) 772-7690‬

Pieter12, Thanks for your reply. Dave would be a great resource when I need body work. Want to develop and practice lens maint. skills on a "beater" lens.

Can you help me gain access to the photos ic-racer posted? Should I contact Sean?

I think the images were on photobucket which no longer displays the images. I believe photo bucket held the images for ransom for some time but I don’t negotiate with terrorists. So, they probably deleted everything.

ic-racer, thanks for your information. I wanted to reach you to see if I could get the photos from you directly via some private means, i.e., my email. I just joined. I really appreciate your organized workplace and the concise instructions plus pictures that I hope soon will guide me to success.

I'm a soon to retire biostatistician, cancer researcher, and want to get outdoors here in Rockies for fall and winter nature photography with the SLX/6000 bodies and both 80 mm Planar and 150 mm "portrait" lenses. They have 40 years of accumulated dust. I'm rebuilding the battery packs in my electronics lab to LIFEPO4.

I have my equivalent lens in front of me, all tools ready to go. I've been able to take off the bayonet mount successfully storing it, and have cleaned the first layer. But seeing all of your pictures would be a real boon to working with all of the lenses in the front and rear groups.

I tried to write to you here to message you privately, but I'm not allowed to do so. Something about not enough posts. I'm in process of contacting Sean, but I now realize that is not likely to work.

Is there a way I can give you a mobile phone number to text, or get to you my email address, without breaking the rules? Maybe you are positioned to get my email address and we can correspond?

Thanks again, and best from the Rockies from Nordic Skier
