Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Rollei 6008i and a Schneider 180 f/2.8 to pair it with. Unfortunately, after only a few test shots, the leaf shutter on the 180 seems to be stuck shut:

I have several questions about this. First, is there something obvious I'm not understanding about how the camera/lens works? The shutter was definitely not staying closed like this until I took a few frames, but maybe there's some quirk about the Rollei 6000 system that I've overlooked? Second, if I do, indeed, have a problem here, does it look familiar with this lens, or with Rollei 6000 lenses in general? I'm trying to gauge what I should be doing with this thing. I have a 30-day return window or, after that, a 90-day warranty with free shipping for repairs. I'd like to keep the lens (obviously, else I wouldn't have bought it), but I don't want to get saddled with something that is likely to fail again shortly after warranty.

It needs to be repaired. I had a 180 with sticky diaphragm blades. Nothing quirky about these cameras, like a Hasselblad. BTW I love this lens, as big and heavy as it is.

Thanks Pieter. Hopefully I'll get to enjoy using this thing, eventually.

Maybe the body is bad and the film back and lens are OK?

Well, it doesn't seem like the lens is ok. I don't think the shutter is supposed to be stuck shut like that, and it definitely wasn't like that when I bought it.
