I heard about this issue, and sure enough, my two boxes (with expiry dates 2027) have no notch codes. Luckily, I could tell by touch, which side was which... That's just dumb, MACO. Dumb!

Touch with moist lip both sides...if it sticks THATS the emulsion
(well it worked with the old 1/4 plate glass plates I used to use - donkeys years ago) ....worth a try.![]()

I'm not sticking the film in my mouth... With my luck, my lips will show up in prints... or I'll like the taste.
Luckily, the surfaces feel different to the touch. It's pretty pathetic that there was no indication on the box about this issue, especially if they knew about it.

Smack your lips right in the middle. Think of it as a selfie. There's simply no reason why these folks can't have notches. What's special about this film??? Cheap? Vegan?
Whoever can be trusted with small things (notch codes) can also be trusted with big things (ISO speed ratings). Whoever is dishonest in little things will be dishonest in big things too.(the book of Mike)![]()
