Hi all,

I recently got a 35W QZ from a different forum from a seller who didn't test the camera with film. And apparently the only thing broken about the camera is the film transport (F*** Me...). Camera motor whirrs and makes noise, lens fires and the camera operates fully EXCEPT the motor whirls without rotating anything internally and doesn't pick up the film leader nor advances to frame 1. As far as I can tell it doesn't do anything resembling grabbing the film.

I should mention the date back seems to have dead batteries (if that would be a cause for film advance not working?)

I tried contacting the usual camera repair centers Precision Camera and Nippon Photoclinic (realizing they only do Kyocera / Contax P&S now) to no luck.

Anyone know if these cameras are still repairable or am I stuck with a dead paperweight? Any certified Rollei repair centers working on these 35mm compacts?

Hi, also film ethusiasst in Seattle area. I recently got a 35w too with a similar issue. I think the spool is taking film, but the exposure counter won't move. Also, it can't finish a roll as I tried actuate more than 30 clicks on a 24-exposure test roll and it never got rewinded. It is either a spacing issue or the spool fails to grab film after a few shots.

It have some other quirks too, all at some level related to the autowinding(bracketing and continuous shooting doesn't work, )

Put the fresh battery at the data back but no luck.

Wondering do you have any update about this one?
