Anyone have experience with this lens? I've been shooting my sl66 alot lately and loving it. I have the 50 and may want a wider lens. Just curious how much distortion it has. Does it give that exaggerated wide angle effect on landscapes? Any examples?

It is a full-frame fisheye. Imagine any 180 degree circular fisheye image that is cropped so the corners of a square just touch the edge of the circle. The result has about 180 degrees of coverage in the diagonal from corner to corner, but less coverage than that, straight across the horizon.

I don't have the F-30mm, I have the Distagon 40mm, which is maybe what you want, instead of the fisheye.

Thanks for the images. Exactly what I needed to see. ic-racer, have you used the 50? Is the 40 that much wider? Thanks again.

Yes, I have both 40 and 50. The 40 is that much wider. I'd recommend both. My 40 is the old one that is huge so it is not my 'everyday' lens. My 50 is the latest open aperture lens (Rolleiflex) and it is my everyday lens. I almost never use the 80.

Some day I'd like the 30mm Fisheye, but I do have the 16mm Zeiss F-Distagon for 35mm already. It is a difficult lens to use well. But I did try to start a Fisheye thread: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
