Rodinal statistics

After all these threads on Rodinal, after the establishment of a church in its praise, how many of the apugers use rodinal as their prime developer?

I'm a lapsed user.

Excellent with APX100 and APX25, (I have some rolls left), as well as with Tmax100 in all sizes from 35mm to 5"x4"

Still use Rodinal ocassionally but nowadays tend to prefer Xtol & Pyrocat HD

Another lapsed user. I`m tending toward D76. I like the smooth grain and if I need a sharper image, I dilute 1;1 or 1:3. Plus I can mix D76 myself for $2 per gallon/4 liters.
I just found a source for sodium sulfite for $2 per pound . The borax is laundry powder borax and too cheap to cost. I have tons of Hydroquinone given to me. Metol is $.75 if you get 100 gr at a time. Keep it im plastic bags inside the bottle it comes in so you keep air away from it.

Mix time is 1/2 hr. Works as good as the package mix if not better.

Like anything else, Rodinal is another tool in the box (OK, it's a rather soggy box). While I like Rodinal for some films in certain situations, I don't have - nor do I want - a "use-it-for-everything-all-the-time" film soup.

I do have settled with Rodinal and DDX/F76+ as my 2 main developers.... don't need anything else

Rodinal perverted with vitamin C is awesome!

For 90% of the stuff I do I use Rodinal. Delta 100, Pan F+, FP4+, HP5+, Tri-X and Delta 400 are great with Rodinal. When I go ultrafast (3200 and above) I use HC-110 or T-Max, but will soon test D76, XTOL and DDX.

But as the High Priest I firmly believe in Rodinal!

For 35mm slow films (namely Pan-F and Efke 25), Rodinal or the J&C R09 is all I use. I've used many different developers, but there's something about slow film and Rodinal that can't be beat: fine grain, sharpness, mackie lines, tonal variations, etc. I only do it for 35mm, but for that, I just don't think anything else compares.

Don't use it much any more since I shoot mostly 35mm developing the film in an ascorbate based developer.

I have a full bottle, unopened. I plan to start using it when I start ysing my hoard of APX100 in "odd" sheet sizes - 6.5x9cm and 13x18cm. Later this year?

JIm, I've been using Neofin lately, with EFKE 25 and MACO IR 820c/400. Wonderful stuff - even the ISO400 IR film was smooooooth!

I've used Rodinal regularly during the last year for MF but have converted to the God of Sodium Sulphite. For the occasions I do LF, I still use Rodinal (forever).
Yes Ole, the Neofin developer is great too!

I use it infrequently. My regular developers are ABC Pyro, Acufine, and occasionally PMK or D-76. I'm increasingly likeing RAF Pyro-Metol.

I also use it infrequently. My regular developers are Pyrocat-HD, Agfa 8 and a Metol/Ascorbic Acid/TEA combination. I mix all of them from scratch.

I used Rodial for 35mm and 120 films some twenty years ago. I have moved on to Aqulux 2 and T-Max & RS. I found rodinal a great developer for contrast control through dilution for the smaller format b&w films. I keep a unopened bottle of Rodinal in store, just in case the urge returns...

I don't known how much sodium sulfite you use but The Chemistry Store http://www.chemistrystore.com/ has the following prices.

2# $1.88/lb, 10# $1.46/lb, 25# $1.24/lb, 50# $1.05/lb

They also stock several other chemicals of photographic interest such as hypo, sodium carbonate, propylene glycol, TEA, etc at very attractive prices.

So far I have only used Rodinal since I set up my home darkroom, although I do have a couple of others. I am pleased with the results so far. Guess that's why I haven't tried the others.

I did my first rolls with Rodinal since it was the only revealer my photography shop offered at that time. Now I'm trying every other revealer I can find. But as soon as I get my neutral filter I'm going to push process a Delta 3200 film in Rodinal to see how much grain I can get

I have been using Rodinal for years now. It is still my developer (or revealer, nice word, Franck) of choice for APX 100. But I use Paterson FX39 for Delta 3200, HP5 and FP4. And I use Rodinal Special to develop Agfa Scala as a negative film.

I use Rodinal with APX 100 in 120, which is the bulk of what I shoot. I am going to try a roll or two of Tri-X in it since there are a number of folks around here who seem to like it.

I think the word revealer that Franck uses is derived from the french word for developer, révélateur. But indeed a nice word!
