My Rodinal has turned to a dark brown and i've had in an open bottle for less than 2 years. I just did two rolls with it, and they came out nicely, so it obviously still works great, but there is some slushie stuff forming at the bottom of the bottle that is concerning me. Should I attempt to filter this out using a coffee filter or something?

Can't you just leave it at the bottom? That's what I do.

It's rather sluggish stuff so it shouldn't immediately pour out with the rest of the developer.

Leave it on the bottom, do not shake or stir, it's harmless.

Sludge? My RO9 One Shot formed some crystallike substance after about 1 year....filtered it out, the remaining liquid seemed to work fine.... but that said that was the last 1/16 of a 500ml bottle and the rest didn't last much longer than that.......on to the next bottle

I've got some real old practically black Rodinal and I do notice some crystals at the bottom. I've made no strong effort to be overly careful though I have certainly not to shaken it as well. No issues I've seen. I guess filtering it out would not hurt either though. On the other hand you could use a syringe and extract your Rodinal out avoiding the crystals or sludge too.
