Hi:

Anyone know who carries Rodinol in western Michigan or Chicago suburbs? I have paying as much for shipping and hazmat as for the product.

Thanks

Murray - If you can't find it locally, neither FreeStyle (www.freestylephoto.biz) nor Calumet (www.calumetphoto.com) charge hazmat fees if it's shipped via ground. That doesn't help you with the shipping costs, but it's cheap enough if you add it to an order for something else. I think I paid an extra $1 for shipping when I added my last bottle of Rodinal to an order I placed with Calumet.

Doesn't Calumet have a store in Chicago? Mongo, is correct however - I order mine from Calumet along with other items, select GROUND shipping and there is no additional charge. The way Rodinal last, next order will be for the larger bottles.

Good luck,

I ordered mine from Calumet. No problem.
If you use them, be sure to click the link at the top of this page to get to their site. That way apug gets the credit for sending you to them.

One could check it out by selecting the Calumet "box" at the top of this page.

Mike,

Until Scott tried the Azo in Rodinal I had never considered using a film developer for a print developer either.

My results with Pyrogallol as one of the ingredients in a paper developer have really impressed me. The tonal scale is very nice and the cost is less then 1/3 of Amidol per liter of use solution.

Just a quick update, I processed some Ilford WT and MGIV yesterday, using Rodinal (100 ml + 1000ml) on the same image with very nice results. Was working on prints for the print exchange and decided to give it a try. The negative is one I had not paid any attention to, so will be interested in hearing what others think of it with the Rodinal. Development time was 2 minutes (fiber paper).

When I get a chance I will see about posting an image in the gallery.
