Rodinal R09 One shot

I have a bottle of it and was wondering if it's a one time developer or one dilution is good for one more development? Meaning, if I make some 300ml for one film, is it any good on the second film or do I need to make a new dilution?

One shot. 5ml concentrate/film use to be the rule of thumb regardless of dilutions.
And it should be mixed/diluted just prior to use.

Use the dilution once.

And as Soeren writes, use a minimum of 5 ml of R09 pr. film.

Don't hang on to that 5ml minimum to much.
That means if you want to develop a sing roll in 1:100 dilution, you are going to have to use 500ml, instead of 300ml. It is easy if you have a Paterson Universal or larger tank, but more difficult if you only have a smaller tank.
I use a 2-reel SS tank, a Paterson Universal 2-reel and a 3-reel Paterson.
The SS tank takes about 225ml per reel. I normally develop 2 rolls at once and about 450ml and 4.5ml of R09 for a 1+100 dilution.
With the 3-reel it is still 9ml+900ml and still only 3ml per roll.
Never had a problem.

Ive done the 3ml/roll too that's why I wrote "rule of thumb" Still Id recommend going with the "proper" amount and dilutions the first couple of times just to get the hang of things. Nothing worse than having a bunch of variables and not being able to tell which to blame.

I'll often have partial rolls (10-15 exp) to develop and will use "1 shot" developer twice when doing 1 right after the other. I might add a bit of time to the 2nd roll.

About that minimum, during the last developing I had put 12ml for 300ml (1:25 dilution), it came out good, what's with that loose approach and "rule of thumbs"?

An exposed film use/needs an amount of developing agent to be developed. If you use to little your developed will exhaust. "To much" developer is just a matter of how often youll have to buy more. At 1:25 you are save within the recomended amount and dilutions

The name of the developer says it all RO9/one shot, use once and discard, 300ml at 1/50 is 6ml to 294 ml water for 1 35mm film, for 120 10 ml to 490 ml water will develop 2 films if both loaded into same reel,

As far as I remember it was also a "recommendation" from Agfa.
They wanted to sell more.

The easiest development is stand for 1 hour at 1:100.
That's what I first used and still use.

Years ago there was an article (Bill Pierce, Popular Photography, Vol 57 Sept 1966) called Rodinal Rejiggered. It described using Rodinal as a replenished system. The Rodinal was d1liuted 1:100 with 7.5% sodium sulfite solution instead of water. Replenishment is at the rate of 1 ml of Rodinal concentrate for each roll developed. The used solution was discarded after a month. As with replenished systems the developer volume should be appropriate that is at least 1 liter preferably more. Development times are shorter than for Rodinal as a single shot.
