Rodinal - Help!!!

Guys, I´m trying to use Rodinal for a long time. In a recent trip to US I bought a bottle, but when I got home just found out thar the airport security took it away from my luggage. Since I live in Brazil and there´s no way to find Rodinal down here, I´ve decided that I´ll make it by myself. The point is: I´ve seen so many formulas that I´m lost. Could someone tell me wich is the best formula and how I mix it? I´ve never mixed chemichals before and I really need some kind of a tutorial. I know lots of you have experience doing this, so, please help me.

But actually I'd recommend Pyrocat HD it's like Rodinal on Steroids.

Maybe it is available in a different version and another name.
I use R09 myself, and maybe that one is available. It is not exactly identical, but close enough.

If no version is available maybe just try one of the formulas (there is one on http://www.digitaltruth.com/data/rodinal.php) and see if this one suits you.

Is it allowed to send Rodinal by mail? I buy through mail order, but only within Sweden.

Can you get potassium hydroxide and potassium sulfite, as well as p-aminophenol base? If so, an easier way to make it is:
250 ml water.
20 grams p-aminophenol.
100 grams potassium sulfite.
Stir to make a sort of slurry. Add water to make about 400 ml.
Add 13.5 grams of potassium hydroxide slowly while stirring. The solution should clear up. If not, add bits of the hydroxide until it does. Add water to make final volume 500 ml.

The solution will gradually darken. It is said that the original Rodinal was aged for 2 weeks before use. If you can wait that long to try it, you're a better man than I.

Potassium sulfite is very easily oxidized in its powder form to the sulfate, which is not good. If possible, get some of the standard 45% solution and use 222 ml of it.

I've found PaRodinal to be an accurate subtitute, and very easy to find the ingredients. You can see my results here. Far from scientific testing, but I'd happily use it in the same manner I would real Rodinal.

Photogrphers' Formulary has the recipe and mixing instructions for their version of Rodinal on their website. It uses somewhat easier to obtain chemicals than the original. You can substitute equi-molar amounts of sodium hydroxide for potassium hydroxide as well. The mixing process is a bit fussy, but it usually goes smoothly.
