Hi,

I just purchased a used 150mm apo sironar with copal #0.
My standard tapered thread cable release sort of fits but
it is a fiddle to attach and am afraid I will strip the thread.
Does anyone know where or a namebrand for a cable release with straight thread that would fit.

Thanks

I've never seen a Copal shutter that doesn't accept standard cable releases?

Admittedly most of the shutters I have are Compurs (plus a few Compounds, Prontors, Veburs, Alphaxes and Copals), but I still use the same no-name cable releases (I have about 10 of them) on all shutters and cameras without fear of stripping the threads!

I saw this issue mentioned on another forum and a few posters
said that there were two kinds of threads on copal cable release bracket.
Tapered and straight. Nobody seemed to know where to get the
straight thread release cable type so just thought I would ask here.

The only straight threads I've seen are on older American shutters, like Ilex. The Copal takes a tapered thread.
