How does one tell if a Rodagon enlarging lens is APO or not? I've got an 80mm at home and wasn't sure ... looked on eBay, the web .. all the photos I see look the same, that is, I don't see APO printed on any of the ones listed as being APO's ... so how do you tell?

Cheers.

ah ok like this:

I was trying to find the auction I saw last night, but I guess it closed. I didn't see APO in any of the pics the seller had posted, yet people were bidding it up and up - was > $300 last I saw ... so stupid. It looked just like the one I have, which I'm pretty sure is non-APO

The good thing is, if it's not an APO, You won't have to deal with the seller, Ebait or Paypal to straighten it out.

There is also an APO Rodagon D, which is optimized more for macro and copy work than for enlarging, and there are APO Rodagons that were made for some kind of machine use, like in copiers or circuit board printing or something that are optimized for whatever that use was and that don't have irises, so be sure the one you're getting is really an enlarging lens.

Na, I already have one ... I was just waiting for prints to wash the other night and began poking around the web trying to find out what its worth, hehe. But honestly I've been using my 105mm El-Nikkor more lately anyhow.

Even my old 180mm f/4.8 is clearly marked Apo-Rodagon on the outside of the barrel.
