No way I could get such clean edges to a salted paper coating; well done!

thanks! I used to try and make it as neat as possible with straight lines and no drips or splashes but over time I found I preferred to not concentrate so hard on it and embrace that each print comes out with a different irregular pattern.

Another way you can create the live border is how Dan P. does it - in the digital negative. You don't have to worry about the errant rod. It's pretty nice look:

wow, those look stunning! I have thought of that idea before but it's so cool to see how nice it turns out in practice. That would also fix the issue of my coating lines since they would be outside the image area...

OK....I apologize - I mis-remembered it. It's not digitally created (but you can do it that way if deft with the brushes in Photoshop or may be you can find a template somewhere.) The truth is Dan P. used brush coating as he explained in this post way back:


I don't know why I thought it was digitally created - may be mixed up with someone else.

These weres with a brush (platinum/palladium). I did not try to make the edges even, tho I could have. They are meant to be shown with all the black showning.
