Does anyone have experience in this area? I'm considering taking my no-batteries Canon P for a week of skiing in the Rockies and wondering if the bumps and vibration will knock the rangefinder out of alignment (or anything else). I've had no trouble with an Olympus XA in the past, but that goes in a breast pocket and the Canon would probably have to go in the backpack.

Id keep the Canon wrapped in eg clothing while in backpack in case you drip the pack unto ferro concrete.
Otherwise you should be ok unless you hit a tree when the Canon is least of worries...

I used a Canon P on and off for several years with no major problems, despite using it from the tropics to the arctic with casual protection.

If you're carrying the camera in a backpack, it will at least be somewhat isolated from vibration. Your main worry will be cold - old lubricants don't like low temperatures. If it's had a recent and good CLA you'll likely have no problems.
