Wow, not sure how I missed this or the "many other responses" on "other threads". Guess I was awful busy this summer.

I was an early subscriber but for me View Camera died years ago when digital started appearing in its pages with regularity. I enjoyed the early years though. It was good while it lasted and I think it was the last photo mag I subscribed to. But that was 15 years ago. i would see it on the shelves at Barnes and Noble and occasionally buy a copy since then, but it disappeared from B&N probably 5 years ago.

Has anyone offered to take the magazine over as an online magazine only? That way we can keep the community alive with online subscriptions, ads and submissions.

I just figured this out too. Sad to see it bite the dust. Was just about to get a subscription for a friend for Christmas. I just discovered Looking Glass magazine, which looks to be very promising.

in addition to looking glass you might also look at lens work ...
in both cases the publishers seem to be very nice people too !
