To sell the 4x5 is the wrong desicion, you should expand your house thats the right thing to do! Everybody here can tell you that you never have to much cams!

One more suggestion,

By the time Foto3 rolls around, Richard Ritter should have his ULW (Ultra Light Weight) 8x10 camera finished. It uses Carbon Fiber Tubes for the rail system. I believe Richard will be at Foto3, just be sure to check it out prior to making a purchase. I have one of Richard's 7x17 Carbon Fiber cameras and it weighs less than my Zone VI 8x10. They really have interesting engineering.

See Nicole, I told you it would happen. It's only the fact that I can't enlarge that worries me with the 8x10, apart from that it's wonderful. As for carrying it long distances, that's just a matter of getting fit. I took mine out to the back of the You Yangs and hiked 4 k's to take 2 photos yesterday. I was about 400 metres east and 150 metres above where Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg were filming for their next movie. Machine guns and explosions going off while I'm trying to take pictures.
Anyway, back to the camera. If you thought that the 4x5 made you think about what you were taking, the 8x10 makes you think even more, but the results are worth it, no contest.

They don't want you to sell one camera to get another, you must keep them all. Expand your house if you must. Your children are getting too much food anyway, right? :rolleyes:

I'm out happily shooting my roll film, and next to me is a colleague/friend with his 8x10, 7x11, 7x17, or 12x20. Or whatever, they all look alike to me.

Seriously, 8x10 is my choice too and reason for me is, among others, avoiding enlarger. I really don't have space in my house and nerve too to deal with transport of 4x6 or 5x7 enlarger from abroad...

8x10 rocks! It is my photographic weapon of choice for just about everything. Some older 8x10 cameras you might want to look for are:
