Richard Ritter just updated his web site with more information on his lightweight ULF camera. Information includes how to buy one. First to be finished will be 7x17s, with other, interchangeable sizes available soon.

I have no financial interest in Richard's camera-making venture. I jsut want him to get the ULFs underway so he can turn to making ultra-light 8x10s and 5x7s, which he has hinted he might do...

You can have a 12x20. Ask him. I think he even has the backs for that size almost finished.

He had three at our workshop in Moose Country this weekend. They got used well. More are almost done.

Format sizes will be interchangeable. One bed will accommodate 7x17 to 16x20. Rerigging for verticals without a separate tripod was timed at 4 minutes.

I just received word that Richard's ISP had a fire and will be down for perhaps a week....perhaps longer.

I had a chance to take Richard's new camera for a spin this past weekend at the Fine Focus Fall Foliage Workshop in Northern New Hampshire. She is a thing of beauty. Very light weight....lighter than my Zone VI 8x10. It took me about 8 minutes to switch from horizontal to vertical on my first attempt. Should get quicker with some practice.

The bail back is a real charm. Makes loading and unloading those 7x17 film holders a breeze. Can't wait to get in the darkroom to see the results.
