I just hooked up my ancient Epson 2450 to my new iMac. The software CD with the license keys for Silverfast is so old, the version I'm using on my PC would not be supported for the latest flavor of MacOS X (this is one of the new Intel macs). So, I downloaded the standard Epson drivers. Wow- what an improvement! The version they had for the PC was terrible, and had no decent controls - everything on it was automagic. Now, it does a terrific job, and gives you most of the controls you'd want from Silverfast AI. Still picks up the paper texture too much when scanning pt/pd prints, but that's life, I guess. I'm also just stunned at how crappy the image on the monitor was with my PC, and how much better the Mac is. Yay, wow! Now I just need to get the ICC profiles for my 2200 printer and I'll be in business!

I went mac a year or so ago and will never look back, glad to hear you are loving it. In fact my system runs the same as the day I bought it without a single issue. I also do not run any virus scanners, adware or malware scanners. I don't have to touch the OS, it just works 100% of the time. This is a huge change from building my own pc's and having to re-install XP every 3-6 months, I don't have time to mess with windows anymore -and just wait till Leopard comes out

I put together a digital lab a few years back. All the PC's had to be updated except the MAC's. It is amazing how well and consistently they performed over time in comparison to the PC's.

Having never worked on anything but a PC, I wouldn't know. I've been using one for a long time now and haven't had any problems. I honestly can't think of one time it has held me back. Like I said though, my only Apple experience is via an old IIe that I hated and my iPod that I love.
