Welcome back Mark.
And to hoffy and mooseontheloose, just think of 50 in roman numeral terms - V is, after all, for Victory! L is for longevity

The Roman Numeral for 50 is L not V. V is five [5].

So it's six months later (sorry, fighting a somewhat major health issue this year) but I want to thank everyone for the welcome back. I've visited numerous times in the interim just to read and catch up, I'll start posting as actively as I can. Lately I've had a strong itch to get back into MF film, so I'll probably be hanging out in the medium format threads at least a bit.

"grumpy" and "old" are those fun adjectives which should be applied to personalities, not chronological age. I've met 30-year-old grumpy old people here. What you are really talking about is the incivility that comes with virtually anonymous internet forums.

p.s.
I'm 61 years of age but neither old nor grumpy.

When my father was young he was grumpy. As an old man he became a lot less grumpy.

Me? I'm old but not grumpy. Well, sometimes my wife accuses me of being grumpy, but of course it's all just a vicious lie, probably meant to extract some kind of concession from me, like mowing the lawn.

So, to Mark and Hoffy, welcome back from a self professed grumpy old man (LXXII is right around the corner for me).

Thanks once again for all the welcomes in this thread. Sorry to not have replied to each comment earlier - I’m still recovering from some major medical stuff from this summer and fall, so haven’t been online much the past months. Also, I didn’t realize I didn’t have notifications on, oops.

That said, I’m a bit younger than you, @Rick A (LVIII) but I alternate between grumpy and moody like @Andrew O'Neill.

So lately I’ve been slowly working my way through a cache of frozen 20-y.o. film, and I’m currently trying to get an old (and grumpy, it seems) Agfa Karat IV working again…which has me grumped up good right now. It’s cosmetically mint, but has recently seized up as the old Karats do. We’re anticipating dense fog here tomorrow morning, so I’m planning to get out and shoot…I’d hoped to use this Agfa this week, but I guess I’ll be shooting a different camera.
