Retrofitting a drain on a Versalab print washer

I have an 11x14 Versalab print washer. It works fine, but the siphon is finnicky. The design dictates a certain flow to make the siphon work properly. As the siphon pulls water from the bottom corner of the washer, a drain in a similar position should work as well. So, I’m considering refitting the washer with a drain. Drilling a hole in the washer is not a problem. But I am open to suggestions as to the type of fitting I could use. Something like a “through the hull” drain should work, but some type of spigot might be usable as well.

I put a valve like this on the leak catch pan under our water heater, so that I could attach a garden hose that I could lead outside rather than having water come out deep in in the back corner of the garage (where the water heater is situated). You can regulate the flow thru the valve, so that outflow matches water inflow into your print washer.
