Retina IIc focus very stiff

Does anyone know if the lens/shutter on the IIc is disassembled the same as the IIa? Any help is appreciated.

Briefly, yes. The focusing mechanism is similar. Remove the lens/shutter assembly.

The focusing helical is attached to the focusing ring/knob by a small plate that is held by four screws. Loosen these, and you can remove the helical.

I can't recall if you have to remove two metal guides from inside the bellows chamber. Maybe. It's been a while.

Then, afterward, you should recollimate the lens to set infinity focus.
