OK, it's a slow day and I'm bored sitting around waiting for the stupid bowl.

I bought this ugly duckling for cheap due to it's cosmetics (which I actually like). A correct yellow filter filter would have cost more than the camera, so I glued on a series V to the front. You can still shut the clam shell front, so that's nice. The shots you get are as good as your ability to guess the distances. The lens is not as sharp as my old Ia w/ a Xenar 50 3.5, but since it's an old camera it might just be my sample. I shot half a roll of Tri-X and developed it in some old D76 that is past it's prime. Either I blew the focus, the shutter speed was too slow for handheld, or my wife moved, but I like the blurry shot, so here it is. Her blouse on the bottom right looks sorta in focus, and that's closest to the lens, so I suspect my distance guessing needs some work. Many of the shots were in the gloomy part of the day, so things may go better when the sun is out.

Looks like some great results for a simple little rig. Looks like missed focus on the 4th example shot. You'll get better at guessing distances. I'm still pretty bad but better than when I was first starting. 50mm is long enough that it's quite difficult due to selective focus effects, even at smaller apertures.

Nice camera. I'm an old time press photographer and I always tried to convince my editors that this focus stuff was overrated.

Very very nice! I love old beater cameras like that that can give such great results. Sorely tempted to pick one up but if you saw my camera shelf already and how much gas I've had through the years you'd understand why....
