Resurrected Wollensak Verito 8 3/4" First field tests

Hi everyone,
I recently finished restoring a classic Wollensak Verito Diffused Focus 8 3/4" lens.
I took it on some field tests by the sea to see how it handles ice and contrasty winter scenes.
The lens was mounted on a Long Focus Poco No. 18.
It really does do the trick, capturing the atmosphere of the frozen remains of the pier and the surroundings.
There's something truly special about the "Verito style" that modern glass simply can't replicate.

Very cool. Please post more photos taken with this lens. I’ve found that my far more pedestrian Graflex Optar lens (made by Wollensak) can produce real gems. This company seems to have played an interesting role in photography, at least in the USA

Thanks! Actually, I don't use a shutter. I usually shoot at ISO 2, so a lens cap is enough to control the exposure. Currently, I'm working with some MA51 from 1983.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the results. I’ll definitely post more soon. Wollensak glass has a soul that's hard to find elsewhere. This particular shot was taken last Friday on MA51 film from 1983 (see the box attached). I exposed it at ISO 2, f/6.3 for 4 seconds and developed it in 510-Pyro. Since I don't have a scanner right now, I just took a quick photo of the negative with my iPhone 12.
