Anyone know of anywhere i can download different types of ground glass grid designs? I mean in digital image formats (transparent PNG would be the best).

Should be easy to make in Photoshop or Illustrator.

You're right.

But some of the fancy ones would be more of a challenge:

Not really. If you know the dimensions or even just have an example to scan as a template. Set the grid guidelines to visible, use shapes and the pen (vector) tool, alignment/distribution settings and Bob's your uncle. An hour's work, less if you're more skilled.

You're right.

Take that image, load into photoshop, straighten it out, adjust the levels to remove the background, save as PNG.

Ok, I skipped a couple steps, but you should be able to turn that into a reasonably clean image.
