I've been using replenished Xtol over a year now. I notice that when pouring my working solution it is clear until I get to the last 200ml or so and it is grey/black. Is this the accumulating bromide that is wanted in replenished regiment or should I dump that bit out and add in enough stock to replenish it?

You should consider filtering the working solution - the grey stuff might actually be dust or other solid contaminants.
Paper coffee filters will work. Laboratory paper filters may be better.
If you do discard the last 200ml and replace it with fresh, you may see a slight bump in activity - that is about three rolls worth of replenishment.

I can't say exactly what it is at the bottom of my jug of Xtol-R, but I filter my whole jug about once every three months. JohnW

Thanks for the info guys. Guess I'll filter it!
