I have a Rollei 2.8C with a badly paint chipped hood and would like to know if any other model hood would fit it if I happen to come across one. It functions fine but I just want it for cosmetic purposes.

One from a D might fit. Or an MX-EVS Automat?

Although the holes and back section are consistent, the front section that goes behind the nameplate or meter cell block varies. I don't remember the pattern I found years ago, but do some checking!

By the way, the hood you show in your photo is not the stock C hood. That looks like an MX-EVS hood? If it functions smoothly I would not bother changing it. A clean hood will be silly expensive as with most Rollei parts, and your hood has a nice look.

probably could be repainted with a little effort, and some black spray lacquer paint.

Yes, a little paint will fix it. It's better than the feeling of having a Franken-Rollei. Braunschweig is in Niedersachsen and not in Frankenland.

He ALREADY has a Franken-Flex. The hood is not the correct design for a 2.8C. The C has a diopter on a much smaller metal flap with adjustable vertical position for focus.

You are correct! I didn't enlarge the picture.

http://www.rolleiclub.com/cameras/tlr/info/serial_numbers.shtml shows 1292546 to be a 2.8C .
A pdf I purchased Honeywell Photographic Rollei/Honeywell Exploded Views and Part Numbers shows the 2.8 C as 1953 with the view hood complete as p/n 07800.41.0. The same hood is on the 2.8 D. The 2.8E, 2.8E3, and 2.8 F all have different part numbers.

Does yours match?

Now that I enlarge the pic I can also see that the hood appears to be from a much earlier Rollei. I have a D, E and F, the drawing above matches my D, it is also my favorite of the three because I can easily adjust the focus for the sportsfinder critical focus lens for my increasingly poor eyesight. OP, you might prefer the model correct WL finder for your C.

I took a quick look on eBay and came up with nothing. It may be a bit difficult.
