Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I had a question. I wanted to rent some darkroom space for a friend of mine as a Christmas present. My question is: how much time does a darkroom session usually last? i was thinking 4 hours, but i don't have the first clue about it (i'm taking a class next semester, so i'll know then, lol). Thanks in advance for your help!

Four hours would be a nice chunk of time to get something done to completion. But even one hour could be enough for a quick printing session. The shortest time I've spent in the darkroom is about 45 minutes. I think most places start with an hourly rate.

Christine:

4 hours is a good choice. The darkroom rental people may have suggestions as well.

It's a great idea for a gift.

I spent 2 hours printing the first time I even tried - I had no idea it had been that long. Time really does fly, but 4 hours sounds like a pretty good time. What a cool christmas present for your friend.
