I have a tiltall monopod. I think it is actually the center column of a full tripod.
The normal tilting head is really cumbersome to use as a monopod.
Is there any way to remove the head or is it permanently attached?

I have a tiltall tripod. If what you have is the center column, then it should have a gnurled ring at the base, or in its absence the threads. In answer to your question, I don't know.

Try looking up Gary Regester/tilt-all support, he's the ultimate authority on Tilt-All pods.

Well I found the answer. Essentially there is nothing under the head to support a standard head.
The Tiltall head is pressed in the tube, and you may not be able to get it back on without specialized equipment.

Luckily, i found this out on a web search before I started messing with it.
