My new Holga 135TLR has a monkey sticker at the upper right corner of the camera body, when looking at the front of it.

Is there an easy and safe way to remove this sticker? It "cheapens" the look of the camera.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

My other three Holga's did not come with that sticker on them...

The sticker almost feels like it was applied to a square stamped into the plastic on the camera, that is the same size as the sticker, so I don't know if peeling it off is an option.

I would prefer something that would not damage the camera body/plastic. I have heard of Goo Gone, but have never tried it.

Chris - The camera looks MUCH more professional, without that sticker.

Put a piece of black gaffers tape over it. Looks cool. Hipsters will love it. Dark, daring, mysterious....what's under that tape? Don't know and he won't tell me.....OOoooooo....

I just found a Holga catalog online (will post new thread) and a picture of one of the other models, has this same monkey sticker on it.

No doubt-question of the week.

I think Goo-Gone will work well, without you having to monkey with it.
Test it on an inconspicuous area, like the bottom or inside.

"It "cheapens" the look of the camera."

Get a marker and write Leica on it, special monkey edition.

Go retro. Put a No Fear sticker over it.

In my experience the best sticker goo remover is ordinary silicon house polish. In the UK "Mr Sheen" works great. Spray it on. leave to soak a little while and it comes off easy. safe for plastics too.

Seems like an easy way to remove it, is to simply attempt to peel it off, then use rubbing alcohol to remove the remaining adhesive residue...

If the sticker comes off clean, I'll buy it. I'd like to decorate my Leica!

Careful! that sticker might be placed there as an important design feature, removal can cause catastrophic structural failure! You might experience light leaks, a loose body, and overall poor performance! Oh wait... those come standard. =P

"Cheapens"? Are you serious? How could you possibly make it look cheaper?:blink:
