Just a heads-up, I found a source of replacement parts for Epson Scanners and priners.

https://compassmicro.com/

I just ordered new replacement film holders for a V750 Pro at about 1/3 of what I would pay on that auction site we all know so well...

Now, to locate a local source for float glass to replace the scanner lower glass.

Yes, Rod at compassmicro is a good guy.

Most reputable glass shops can provide high quality float glass. Call and ask before taking time to drive over. Check to make sure they provided bubble-free glass before you leave the store.

Doug,

Thanks for the advice. Is there a common thickness I should look for?

My "discovery" is probably common knowledge, but thought it might be news to someone like me who just needs to put a used scanner back into operation.

You need to open up your scanner to remove the glass and take it with you to the glass shop to show them plus confirm they cut the new piece the same. When you do that, you will see how it is attached to the lid. Look at the attachment system and that will show you how much leeway you have on glass thickness compared to what is in there now.
